[sap-log-mm] SAP WM Re-slotting Replenishment Problem

Posted by samuelreid
on Jun 25 at 3:04 PM
Hi SAP GURU

I have recently done a re-slotting exercise for some products in my warehouse, where I used SAP WM. I have given PICK BINS to some and Take away PICK BINS from others. I have edited the Material Master for both Products,
However for those that I have TAKEN the PICK BINS away from, the SAP WM seem to remember their original PICK BINS and trigger a replenishment to take back the products to their original PICK BINS albeit the storage location for the products are EMPTY OR BLANK in the Material Master.

I used LT15 to delete the replenishment TOs but they keep coming back in the queue....how do I get the system to stop generating replenishment TOs for the old BINS as this bin is no longer in the material master......

RE:[sap-log-mm] What is the best way to Identify MRO Repairables

Posted by PeterDahl

HT has a good point; we may be trying to solve a problem for a question that wasn't asked.
What is a repairable items and how do we identify it is quite different, and I'll chime in with my standard Six Sigma answer: it depends. What i a repairable item to me may not be such to someone else.
My solution to "How do I identify items that are identifiable" is one that I answered by adding a characteristic to classes that we consider repairable. As I recall, the Characteristic was "IS_REPAIRABLE" and possible values were "Y" or blank.

What is the better way to Identify Repairable MRO Inventory?

All of our stock is currently identified as Material Type HIBE and the only distinction to identify repairables is in the PO text. We have thought of changing to a REPR material type or using a different valuation class but we would now have to create new Material Numbers in either case. We thought about Material Group management but purchasing would now lose sight of the commodity type for potential negotiation leverage with suppliers at a later date. We thought about Storage Location which may work well for stocked material but I may have to find a different strategy for non-stock repairables.

I am on 4.6c, but try this.

After you generate the report, go Settings > Display Variant > Current.
Change the layout so that all the desired information is on line one.
Remove all fields from all other lines. Be sure to save your variant and
settings.

All your information should now appear on one line. Let me know if you
have any questions.

[sap-log-mm] Material Availability Check and PR Creation for PM Order

Posted by dipen_shroff
on Jun 25 at 11:01 AM
Dear Expert,

In PM Order, we are assigning Material under Component Tab; this material is Stock Item IC - "L". System is checking material availability, and generating reservation but system is not generating Purchase requisition (while creating / saving maintenance order) if material is not available.

I want to generate PR for this material (in availability check material is not available) while releasing maintenance order.

Please guide...

RE: [sap-log-mm] Association is made of a Plant (MM) to Local Business (FI)?

JP -

There is no such term in SAP-FI as "Local Business" (at least in English). You should speak to the FI folks in your organization to find out what SAP organizational element is being called Local Business. It might be Company Code, or Business Area, or Profit/Cost Center, or something else entirely. Whichever one it happens to be, it's likely associated in the Define or Assign subtasks of the Enterprise Structure section of the IMG.

RE:[sap-log-mm] LI04 - Receive message Plant in Whse number does not exist:Specify Storage Location

Posted by ksalazar

Thank you all - We used LX16 and after using LI04 for years and it working all of a sudden stopped, receiving the indicated error message. We then tried LI01N and then LI04 and it worked for one day and has stopped and hasn't worked again giving the same error message. I have checked that the warehouse is assigned to the SLOC and Plant and it is, that is why this is so frustrating. Any other suggestions?
Thank you.

We use continuous inventory and all of a sudden we are getting the error message when we use LI04 - Plant in Whse number does not exist:Specify Storage Location. I have checked IMG to make sure the warehouse is assigned to the plant - nothing has changed. Does anyone know why I would be getting this error message?

Thank you all. We create in LX16 and LI04 after working for years stopped working, getting this error message I indicated earlier. So we tried by creating with LI01N and LI04 worked one day and not the next or any day after. My warehouse is set up in the plant so that is why it is so confusing. Any other suggestions?

Hi Kathy,

Are you using full WM (Warehouse Management)? LI04 is print the PID, LI and LX transaction codes are related to WM! So what I mean is; you must have got an error much before this LI04.
If you are in full WM: Can you create an PID with LX15 (continuous inventory)? Or with LI01 (manually creation)?

If you are in Full WM: Check table T320 [Assignment of Plant - Storage loc. - Warehouse].
If you are in LEAN WM: You have to do your Inventory Count in IM.

Rgds.

Sandhya,

If your plants are in same company code you can try the transaction for mass
extension of materials. I don't have t code handy now, however, you can
follow the path in SAP overview screen.

Material master -----extenssion ------masss extenssion.

It will help.

2. Maintain J1ID for material and vendor
3. Make PO / SA with "K" Item category
4. Make GR 101K and see.

Hi Gurus,
Can anybody help me out.
I want to make a purchase via consignment item catagory.
I could be able to make PO and GRN, but when i capture Excise Invoice via J1IEX, no base value is getting copied since PO does not have any value.
Now if i enter a base value manually , system is shwoing a dump error.
Can anybody tell me how to capture Excise Invoice for consignment purchase.
Thanks in Advance.

[sap-log-mm] ECC 6.0 EHP5 IDES

Hi All,

We are planning to Install ECC 6.0 EHP5 IDES system, but we are not able to figure out if it has been released for customers also, as I can see ECC 6.0 EHP5 binaries available in the SMP.

If this version of IDES is available on the SMP, please help me in finding out the location from where I can download the binaries as my SMP login shows that only older version is available for my Download.

Thanks,
Sharib Tasneem
