Triggering the insction lot on components designated for use in repair is probably the top, in terms of a short term fix... Long term, they want to plan materials seperately but have demand flow into their parent plant. All this without a new plant code.

Subject: MRP Areas for Repair Station within a Plant

We have a repair station within a discrete manufacturing plant.
The businesses share machine capacity and also component metal inventory, and MRP is executed at the plant level.

There is an additional inspection requirement on all of the components that go to the repair station, that we currently do not have visibility to. We are wondering if configuring MRP area for such a scenario would improve our process and allow us to plan separately our components needed for this repair station, separate from components required for normal manufacturing.

Does anyone use MRP Areas for such a scenario?
