Neither is a good idea. Best practice is for the client to learn to how to use the existing fields to meet their requirements, using the SAP field names. Otherwise the existing help documentation becomes useless, obtaining help from consulting and SAP can become much more difficult, and even costly errors can result because of misunderstandings.

Client wanted to almost complete customization of material master fields and views. Is it good practice to add new 100+fields to material master? Or is it possible to change the material master existing field names to new names? Of course, without touching dependent fields. Or custom software development for material master creation is an alternative?
