  1. Code Inspector's Performance Checks

In this four-part blog series, Randolf Eilenberger covers Code Inspector, SAP's tool for the analysis of static ABAP code, data dictionary objects and other repository objects. In the first blog he talks about what you can do to remedy the problem when you get a message from the Code Inspector. Part 2 deals with the performance checks delivered with the Code Inspector. Part 3 covers low performance operations on internal tables. And,
part 4 looks at table attributes check, which analyzes the definition of ABAP data dictionary tables and views. Go to the SAP Press page for the complete book (in German only).

  2. Quick Thoughts About SAP HANA and In-memory Technology

SAP Mentor Richard Hirsch covers SAP HANA and In-Memory technology in this new blog. Hirsch covers the fundamentals of the technology, process rules, and the SAP AppCloud among other topics. Read his blog, then visit the related forums to post your questions.

  3. How to Write an ODATA Channel Gateway Service

Writing a Gateway Service using the OData Channel requires an understanding of the relationship between your ABAP code and the generated OData XML. The first part of this how-to guide that describes this development process deals with the creation of the Model Provider class, and part 2 deals with the creation of the Runtime Data Provider class. For more visit the SAP NetWeaver Gateway page on SCN.

  4. Is Your ABAP Ready for the Google Cloud?

If you're looking for an easy framework to communicate and operate with Google services, abap2gapps, an API prototype, might do the trick. In this blog, SAP Mentor Ivan Femia describes how this version allows you to use only Google Spreadsheet service and to perform two actions: request spreadsheet lists and create a new spreadsheet on Google document uploading a file from an ABAP system. Be sure to check out other ABAP blogs and articles, then join the discussion in the developer's forum on SCN.

  5. Applied Mobility: Creating Value Through Mobile Enterprise Applications

While mobile applications are seeing widespread adoption, not every application is created equal. Beyond functionality, user interface, and speed, there are other key considerations that can impact the adoption of your mobile applications, and ultimately the success of the deployment. Join us for the webinar on September 29 and learn what you need to know to successfully deploy mobile applications.

  6. Building an iOS App with SAP StreamWork

In this blog, SAP Mentor John Moy shows how a new mobile app was designed, constructed, and published to the Apple store by three developers who had never met and live on three separate continents. The vehicle for their collaboration? They worked via a single SAP StreamWork activity.
