Hi Eddie,
I had this problem a few years ago and wanted to really understand what happened and found that Finance (by mistake) had paid a supplier 45k for a item worth 4.5k.

If finance posts a invoice greater than the PO approved GRN value then the follow happens:

1) if stock is >0 then the difference is posted to the stock account and the stock value will be increased by the difference value and the MAP adjusted. Nice and simple.

2) if there is no stock when the invoice is cleared for payment then the system posts the difference to a stock holding account for that part. It then waits for the next issue (ie 261 mvt) and adds the difference to the value of the stock being issued. It does not add the stock value to the stock account as there is no stock and hence no value can be held.
So in my case I issued a 4.5k item to a service order but posted a 45k value
(the difference in the original posting was 45k - 4.5k = 40.5 and SAP added this to the value of the part, 4.5k making a total posting to the service order of 45k).

I've a PO with material no. A. and it's price is $100 each. After GR , we issue material A to a
preserve order with movement type 261. Now invoice hasn't been create and material doc for GR can not be reverse( because material A has already been issued).
However , buyer found out that he got the price wrong , it should be $80 each. I try to change PO and it can be change. my question is :
1. If I change PO price to $80 each. how SAP is going to react to this situation in invoice and mater price ( material A is using Moving Average Price ) .

2. If I don't change PO price and only correct this error during MIRO process, do I have to do anything to fix this difference?
