How frequently you need to create new material master? If its one time task to bring material from your legacy system to SAP then follow Neal's post. If its ongoing activity to create new material frequently where the task in itself defines such that creating material in the system is the tail of it and it takes substantial discussions and decision making in the process of creation then you need workflows or similar solution.

Currently, we have our engineering section create all material master number for all of our material types. Based on cutback and reduced resources I want to explore the creation of the material master recoded by the user. Either automatically, via workflow or other process.

Any input on this would be appreciated.
