Use VB11 to set up the substitutions and the type of substitution - I have in the past created specific customized configurations due to specific business requirements relating to the choice of either automatic substitution of proposed substitutions (multiple alternatives, stock availability, and planned lead times can all be viewed to aid the selection under VA01/VA02.

Our company needs to configure supersession of materials in SAP 4.6c where obsolete materials are superseded by new materials and alink exists between the materials. While running reports older materials are taken into consideration and when a user tries to pick an old material it shows the current material in use.

We found that using PIC01 we can achieve this but it is applicable to SAP Automobile and no R/3. Could anybody help me with SAP 4.6c configuring the same functionality?
