Hi,

You did not mentioned which data exactly should be modifiable by end users. Usually is certain user responsible for certain view in material master.

What we do to limit users for screen accesses we use authorization object Material Master: Maintenance Statuses M_MATE_STA. In attribute Activity ACTVT you limit access to creation, change, display etc. In attribute Maintenance status of material STATM you limit access to material master view by set of letters.
A Work scheduling
B Accounting
C Classification
D MRP
E Purchasing
F Production resources/tools
G Costing
K Basic data
L Storage
P Forecasting
Q Quality management
S Warehouse management
V Sales
X Plant stocks
Z Storage location stocks

Hope it helps
Tomas

Subject: Limit MM01 and MM02 for Extending Materials

We have the need to give super users the ability to extend already created material masters and edit the internal commits only.
We have been using a system variant under logistic-material master- configure the material master-Maintain user settings.
This process is a bit troublesome as people move arround and leave the department. We would like to just assign the custom t-code limiting the end-users screen access. Anyone had experience with this?
