Yes, IQ01 will create a serial number master record and allow an external serial number to be entered (albeit w/o any leading zeros). Then I created a Material and entered the serial profile on the 'Plant data/ stor. 2' tab; I also created an equipment master record with a 'Serial data' tab added and entered the Material number and serial number in those fields in the Equipment master record. This entailed several manual steps and creation of three master records that point to each other. Is this really the way to create the serialization in SAP for use in refurbishment work orders to track by serial number? Bastler

I need the pecking order for creating a Material and entering a manufacturer's serial number from the Equipment master record into the intangible Material record w/ same serial number and then entering the Material number and serial number into the "serdata' tab of the equipment record. What are the sequential steps? I can't find a methodology in aftermarket book or googling on line. Thanks in advance for help. kpd |
