Folks, I had weird issue pop up yesterday. I've loaded a large set of characteristics, and a larger set of classes with characteristics assigned. After verifying they all loaded correctly, I had a group of 1250 materials loaded which set up the global part of the MM record - Basic Data, Classification and Purchasing. I had a small number of errors wherein the load error was reported as Value Not Found (EG: THREADS: Value "13 NC" not found). When I checked the Characteristic THREADS, the only thing I found different from manually created Characteristics was the the Characteristic Group was not assigned. I tried a manual entry of a value (13 NC) into the characteristic and got the same error. I set the Characteristic Group to "CU General Characteristic", and tried again. This time the value was accepted. Please help me understand why assigning the characteristic to a group would make a difference, and why the value would even be validated in the first place. Set up as Released, Data Type Char (30), Single Value. Not restricted. Not checked for Entry Required. No values assigned, no additional data, no restrictions. Thanks. | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N. Scottsdale Road Suite 280, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 | | Popular White Papers In the Spotlight _.____.__ |
