I think we need a bit more clarification. Do you want to UPLOAD the contents of an Excel spreadsheet once a day and update SAP with the results, OR, do you want to have Excel REACH OUT to SAP from within Excel and update SAP with information from the Excel spreadsheet?
If you want to upload the contents, have your ABAP programmer write a routine using GUI_UPLOAD or something similar to read the contents of the sheet into SAP and work with it.
If you want to have Excel reach out to SAP, you will have to use the programming within Excel (Visual Basic for Applications or VBA) to call an RFC or BAPI from Excel to update the information in SAP with information from a row in Excel.
