Create Document - CV01N Description: This transaction is used to create different Documents in the SAP Document Management System. You can create multiple types of documents, including: DMS (Drawing) NSN QAP REV SPC The SAP - Document Management System (DMS) serves as a central repository for documents and allows DLA personnel to manage various document types from a single location. After a document is created in DMS, it is easily identified, tracked and linked to materials (NIIN) in SAP. The DMS contains documents of the following types: CID - Commitment Item Description DRW - Engineering/Design Drawing NSN - NIIN OTH - Other PPN - Part/Piece Number QAP - Quality Assurance Provision SPC - Specification STD - Standard A document refers to an object in SAP that contains information related to an NSN, Drawing, Specification, PPN, STD, etc. All documents in DMS follow a strict naming convention associated with the document type. Documents in SAP are also commonly referred to as objects. A document part defines whether a document is primary or secondary and the associated codes used in the Document Management System are 000 Basic and 001 Reference. Version is SAP terminology equivalent to Revision Level in the pre-BSM world. (Version = Revision Level) Versions are user defined, necessitating manual data entry. No match code functionality exists on this field. Linking a document is the process associated with identifying a particular document and its relationship to a material. Linked documents provide a 'trail' that organizes and references all relevant documentation for a particular material. Sheikh Abdul Mujeeb

You need to ask a DMS consultant. Regards. Satish. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
