I do not believe there is any standard functionality. Our project wrote a custom program for it and it was a real PITA to manage. Classification is a very difficult subject.

The client did not use classification in their legacy systems, so we created a table of classes, and characteristics. Both tables have been loaded to SAP. My next step would preferably be to load the assignment of the Class to Material, and the Characteristics to the Class. I've found no transaction that can used to load this file, and all the literature indicates this is a two step manual process. The class needs to be edited and characteristics assigned as one step, and then the materials can have classes assigned. Having some 1000 or so Classes for type 001 (Material) Classes, and a large number of Characteristics ... and 30,000+ materials to tie them to means it can't be a manual process. Any ideas? I know I can use CL20N to assign Classes to Materials ... but I haven't found anything that allows me to "bulk assign" characteristics to classes ... so I can't even make it a 2 step process ... | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
