Hi Belinda,

If you set the the processing status to N this will then only display PR's that are yet to be edited (no PO's or RFQ's)

Secondly if I were using it on a day to day basis i would really use the ME57 transaction to process unedited PR's to allow creation of RFQ's, assign the source of supply, block PR's etc but when it comes to creation the PO's i would find it easier to use the standard ME21N transaction to create the PO with reference to the RFQ (either through the document overview or manually entering the RFQ number)

Hope this helps

Subject: ME57 - Assign and Process Business Process

I know this post was a few months ago, but I am grappling with the use of ME57 for RFQ's and PO's. Greig, in your last response you say:

"use of SAP RFQ's for all items not currently covered by an OLA/contract as this will show that the full process from the point of PR approval through to the issue of PO can be handled using ME57"

My first challenge is that if you use ME57 to process and RFQ for a PR, when you run ME57 again, the same PR is still listed. The risk is that a buyer (or substitute) does not recognize that this is already out on RFQ and might flag for RFQ again.

My second challenge is that when the quotation has been received and accepted and is to be used to convert the PR to a PO, how can you do this via ME57 so that the quotation number and PR number are both referenced on the PO line item.

I would very much appreciate your advice on this.
Belinda
