Dear friend, In MRP you have to always specify the minimum stock level you want to maintain Min stock level = ( per day consumption X lead time for the delivery ) + ( Safety stock) The moment your min stock level falls down, procurement proposals will be generated based on lot sizing procedure you have specified in the MRP view of material master. Does SAP consider delivery lead time when it releases a procurement proposal for material? For example, lets say that you have a material with delivery lead time = 2 weeks and safety stock set to 0. You have released sales & planned orders for, say 9 weeks in the schedule with the first 3 weeks frozen, and SAP calculates that, with today's production plan, you will reach a zero stock level in 6 weeks. Does it release a procurement proposal TODAY or in week 4 (because the lead time is 2 weeks)? If the latter case is true, is there a way to set a safety time so that it releases a procurement proposal in, for example, week 3?
