[sap-log-mm] MRP Supply Chain and ROP inside the Plant

We currently run our business using MRP, I have heard that using auto replenishment on the shop floor would enable me to continue to drive my requirements and supply chain via MRP but maintain WIP on the floor using ROP. Has anyone used this, where can I learn more about this?
