[sap-log-mm] Creating a Plant in SAP for A Corporate Office to Track Assets

I want to have a plant id created so we can attach it to assets. THe plant would be for a corporate office so there are no storage locations needed or anything else that is required for a location this is receiving or shipping product.

I know OX10 creates the plant and OX18 attaches a plant to a Company Code. When I tried to attach it to an asset, it was in the list but it wouldn't let me save the asset with the new plant id in it. Is there a step I am missing?

One note, the company code of the plant did not match the company code of the asset. Could that be the problem or is it something else.
