Mike -

I'm not aware of any possibility of changing the valuation of stock categories. They were designed to work in a specific way, and code in various places depends on that design. It's kind of a take it or leave it situation.

One argument for the controller: if we haven't inspected the goods to verify that they actually _have_ value, then how can we post value to the stock accounts? That argument didn't work for us, so we went the RET storage location route.

Dave, we were receiving directly into unrestricted then I changed cnfg to got into "R" because it's restricted until QA/QC can give a disposition. We don't want this mat'l used in mfg or shipped until QA/QC can give its approval hence the 'R'eturns blocked. Our controller however needs it to be valuated.

I like the idea of a virtual storage location or even a storage location that cannot be used where we mfg. in. I will investigate that.

I assume there should be somewhere in cnfg. where you can decide what stock category is considered valuated or not. Do you know where that might be?

Thanks,
Mike
