[sap-log-mm] STD SAP functionality where the MRP run does not consider expiring/expired batches

I work in a pharma industry and we are currently on ECC 5.0.
I want to know if there is a standard SAP functionality(either in ECC 5.0 or 6.0) for the MRP run to exclude expired/expiring batches.
Currently we have a custom program doing this.
