My experiences indicated that planned delivery time calculation and update into the material master records shall be carried out through the custom program as the standard feature of SAP is normally not catering for the complex business requirements.

Hi guys,
We are running SAP R/3 4.6c and I have been hired to optimize the MRP planning and usage.
One of the elementry parts of material planning for inbound material is the usage of a realistic lead time = inbound delivery time + internal processing time until the material is fully available.
Now, having some history it shouldn't be a miracle to calculate the realized lead times from previous orders of a material and write the average lead time back into the material master.
Infor has this function in the automotive package but I can't find it here in SAP, although I am sure it should be here as well.
Please help me to find and use the inbound delivery time calculation.
