Deepal thanks for the reply back. I have come to the conclusion I should be able to do this via subsequent adjustement . MD04 or Migo and post entries for the components with ref to the PO - MVMT 121 , post negative value will update the vendor stock with movement 544.

However since the IR has already been generated does any other details need to be taken care of on the accounting side ?

Try under Transaction MIGO, the option of "Subsequent Adjustment".

I understand it is specifically for such situations.
